SUMA aim to incorporate Indigenous technologies and learning strategies into mainstream STEAM education, to learn more about the natural and human worlds, and create sustainable solutions for the Earth and all being
With the Seminar Series, our goal is to provide meaningful and useful information about the multivalent relationships between pigments and STEAM.
These Seminar Series are a place of holding space to bring the past into the present and future by sharing knowledge that will help us provide a better understanding of the natural world and our place within it. They are intended to bring together diverse points of view and knowledge systems to enable us to provide a more sustainable and equitable way of life.
Pigments hold an ancient and vital place in human history and activities that can be extrapolated from to better steward our land, reconnect people with the land and their histories and heritage, develop new uses for pigments that improve sustainability in multiple fields, and encourage people to explore the natural world.
