Goal(s): Science and scientific literacy play a key role in educating citizens of today for the world of tomorrow. Critical to succeeding in this endeavour are the core competencies that provide students with the ability to think critically, solve problemas, and make ethical decisions. The Amelia platform proposes a mobile laboratory solution for the disciplines of physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics for K-12 and postsecondary education. The platform consists of an Arduino board that uses a tangible and graphical programming language, enabling the creation of collaborative and creative learning environments. The ability to design, make, acquire, and apply skills and technologies is important in the world today and key in the education of citizens for the future.
